China Merchants Industry Holding Co., Ltd. In terms of marine equipment repair and maintenance, relying on the “Youlian Shipyard” brand, CMI inherits the spirit of century-old ship repair craftsmen, unifies technical standards and management specifications, leads the industry and promotes ship repair with green science and technology, makes every effort to create a century-old “Marine Equipment 4S Store”, thus having a leading domestic position in the modification of LNG ships, FPSOs and cruise ships, and enjoying a high reputation around the world.In the manufacturing of marine engineering equipment, CMI has made great efforts to build the brand “China Merchants Heavy Industry”, and has successfully manufactured more than 100 high-end marine engineering products, including self-elevating drilling platforms, middle-water and deep-water semi-submersible platforms, dredgers, rescue ships, saturation diving support vessels, heavy lift vessels, wave power generation and breeding platforms. It is a major global manufacturer of marine engineering equipment. The dredger under construction won the 2019 National Science and Technology Progress Special Award. In terms of cruise ship manufacturing, CMI took the lead in delivering the first polar expedition cruise ship in China, blazing a trail in cruise ship manufacturing in China and leading the development of the domestic cruise ship manufacturing industry. At present, relying on the “China Merchants Cruise” brand and following the development path of “from small to large, from easy to difficult”, CMI is striving to build a cruise product system such as coastal/river cruise ships, inland water cruise ships, and ocean cruise ships, to build the service capability for the entire cruise ship manufacturing process that integrates cruise ship R&D, design, manufacturing, supporting services, and maintenance service.

In the field of special ship manufacturing, CMI focuses on cultivating and building the “China Merchants Jinling” brand. After more than 70 years of accumulation and precipitation, China Merchants Jinling has developed into the world’s largest ro-ro ship manufacturer, and has grown into an internationally leading small and medium-sized chemical tanker and gas hull manufacturer.

CMI is also the second largest shareholder of CIMC (SZ000039, HK02039), a diversified multinational industry group, and has invested in more than ten enterprises such as China Merchants Leasing and China Merchants New Materials, initiated the establishment of the Marine Technology Industry Foundation and controlled Huashang International (HK00206), a listed company in Hong Kong, and become the largest shareholder of Shelf Drilling (Norway Oslo Exchange: SHLF), the world’s largest shallow water self-elevating platform operator.
